Spring clean your life

In honour of it finally being spring, I decided to do a spring inspired guide. Spring is actually my favourite season (next to summer), so I wanted to do a post or two based around it! I'm going to give you all 5 ways to spring clean your life. Spring is a season for change and new beginnings. Now I am in no way saying that you should change your life in anyway, if you are happy with it. You do you. This is just a few things that I came up with, that may make you feel happier. I know from personal experiences that these all work very well and I probably wouldn't be who I am today, without some of these things. Cheesy I know.
So here we go!

1) Clean out your home

When you think of spring, I bet this is one of the first things that you think of, right? Cleaning your house can do so much and improve so many aspects of your life. Grab those cleaning products and get cleaning! I know that if I am in a clean environment, I feel so much more comfortable. Simply removing those neglected dirty clothes from the floor will make you feel a lot happier. It can take a lot of time to clean your bedroom, or anywhere else in your home, however it makes such a difference!
I don't know about you, but every time it is a new season, I always feel the need to change up my bedroom. I constantly want to rearrange everything. Spring is actually the best time to do that! Moving things around can make you feel ready to take on the world!
One thing that I love to do is go through all of my clothing and make piles of items I want to keep and give away. I did this about 8 months ago in the summer and was buried in old clothing and clothes that I never wore. I ended up giving away 2 bin bags full! I took them to a cash for clothes company. What they do is weigh the bags and then come up with a price to pay you for them! I actually got paid to give away my clothes. They give the clothing to the homeless. I am so glad they've gone to people that need them.
Now that your room is clean and fresh, you'll need something to really make it comfy. CANDLES. If you didn't know, I am obsessed with scented candles. They make the room feel so Tumblr and creates a really fresh atmosphere. Some of my favourite scents for the spring are lavender, orange and vanilla and raspberry. If you don't trust yourself with fire in your bedroom, you can get fresh flowers, scented oils or you could even buy air freshener that you can spray every now and then.

2) Spruce up your diet

I love eating healthy. I always feel really proud of myself whenever I know I've eaten something that is going to be a benefit to my health. I am always trying to eat fruit in the morning. It makes makes you feel so energetic and refreshed in the morning. I actually prefer eating fruit salads over sweets.
I try my best to drink around 6-8 glasses of water per day. I used to hate drinking water because it just seemed so boring to me. I had to force myself to drink it, but now I love it! It has done so much for my skin and general health. I don't feel as tired when I drink water. One way that you can drink water is by making your own flavoured water at home. You could cut up some strawberries or even cucumbers and put them into your water. It is a lot healthier than shop bought flavoured water because it doesn't contain any additional sweeteners. There are actually a few apps on the app store that you can use to encourage you to drink more water. Some of them are 'Hydro coach', 'Plant Nanny water' and 'Water drink Reminder'.
I love to cook new things. One of way that you can spruce up your diet is by buying organic ingredients and products that you can incorporate into your meals. Websites such as BBC Good Food are great! They have hundreds of recipes that actually taste good. I know friends who eat Granola at school. That is something you could have in the morning with some yoghurt or porridge.
The best way to eat clean, is to buy clean. I know for a fact that if my parents buy Pringles and sweets when they go grocery shopping, I'm most  likely going to eat it. Resisting all the junk food will make you eat cleaner. Of course I have fatty food every now and then, but having it everyday isn't good for your body.

3) Revamp your fitness routine

If you don't already have a fitness routine, this will be pretty easy, however if you do, it may be a little tougher. If you already have a routine that works for you, it may be hard to all of a sudden change it. If you are 100% happy with how the fitness routine has been working for you, then you don't HAVE to change it. However it can be fun to try something different. Not everybody has the money or time to get a gym membership and generally go. There are many alternatives that will give you amazing results without needing to work out at the gym. I personally love going to the park and jogging. It's a lot more fun and you have a lot more space. Morning jogs are the best way to start your day. You will feel so much more energetic and awake.
Dust off your talents. If you are good at sports, maybe go to a sports centre and try different sports. Basketball, Tennis, Football etc. Again, it can be a lot more fun, especially if it's something that you are good at.
So how do you get motivated? It's one thing to have a goal, but another to actually feel like achieving it. I have days when I don't want to do anything. I just want to watch movies and chill. The best way for me personally is to remind myself of why I have been working out. Do you have an event you want to look good for? Do you want to lose weight? Or do you just want to be healthy? Constantly reminding yourself why you do it, should get you out of bed and keeping fit.
Work out clothes. It's not essential but it's good to have. If you don't have a ton of money to buy major brands such as Adidas or Nike, places like Primark do work out clothing for as little as £3! You don't need anything expensive, you just need something comfortable. However, if you want to spend a load of money on workout clothes, you go for it!

4) Declutter your mind

Personally, I would say that this is one of the most important things to do. Nowadays, there seems to be so much to stress about. Education, finances, relationships, your appearance etc. We live in a society where these things are constantly on everyone's mind. It is important that you don't let it take over your life. Of course you want good grades, but are you going to completely end your social life to get them? We all want a strong relationship with people, but are you really going to stop caring about yourself to get that? We all want to look our best, but should that be the centre of your life? All of these things are important, but not enough to taint your whole life experience. Life is about learning new things, meeting new people and making the most of every opportunity.
You know what? I dare you to thank three people in your life that make your life as incredible as it is. We should all appreciate what everyone does for us. I love my friends and family more than they know. Without them, would I even be me?

Positive thinking is hard. I know. We are our worst enemy and we bully ourselves more often than we think. Why should we treat ourselves any different to others? We deserve to be loved right? Every morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are going to have a good day. Your day starts with a positive attitude. I myself am still working on staying positive all the time. It's so easy to doubt yourself or a situation. You have to almost be over the top. Tell yourself that everything will workout better than you could ever plan it to be. The best way to exercise positivity is to accept as many opportunities as possible. Don't miss out on a chance to improve yourself.

Stress is always around. Trying to get the better of us. Always making us feel down. There are so many ways to prevent it. They're all pretty simple too.
I think pamper days and spa days are the best way to feel better about a situation, whether you're male or female. Running a hot bubble bath and lighting a bunch of candles really relaxes you. I love using lush bath bombs and bath salts. They make baths seem so much more fancy. Taking some time to yourself is honestly what you need.
Another way that works wonders is to cut off all forms of negativity. Signing out of all social media for a few hours or even days if it is needed, can help so much. I did it once or twice and I felt like a new person. Social media can be great but it can also be a horrible place. It's full of hate and negativity that isn't needed. Logging out of all your accounts and actually going out into the real world will be a benefit. I know that I tend to compare myself to others on Instagram and Twitter, which lowers my self-esteem. Avoiding that by simply not being on-line will give you so much more confidence in yourself.
There are days that I work extremely hard. I can revise up to 4 hours and I know that I deserve a break. I may decide to study for hours on a Friday night but spend all of Saturday doing whatever I choose to. One of the best things is to have a movie day. Pick a bunch of movies, grab some popcorn and other snacks and maybe a blanket or two. It is so much fun just to take a break. Have a good laugh, cry or scream if you're into horrors.

5) Straighten out your relationships

Ok, so this step is pretty daunting. Bringing up the past can be risky, but if you do it right, it could end up being one of the best ideas EVER. When I say relationships, I don't just mean an ex of yours, I mean friendships and family relationships too. No matter what has happened in the past, you can't change it, however what you can change is the future. Maybe arrange to meet up with an old friend from primary school, that you haven't spoke to in a while. You could give an old friend a call or even a text message. You could make their day!
We are all humans, and we don't necessarily get along with everyone we know, and you don't have to. However, in my opinion life is so much easy when you know you can talk to someone without holding a grudge. It takes way too much effort to hate a person. Talk to someone you may not necessarily be friends with and just be the bigger person. Being civil is the best way to go. This is not essential to life but you'll start to become less angry and upset every time you think about that person, if you do.
Another thing is to make new friends. Talk to as many people as you can and try to build friendships with them. You can try talking to people you don't usual speak to at work or at school. You can join clubs and even take part in camps. I am taking part in NCS this year which is a summer camp kind of thing. I am extremely excited to meet new people and make life long friends.

I hope that you enjoyed this post, It's one that I have put a lot of effort into writing for you all. I hope some of these things work out for you and I hope that you'll make the most out of this spring.
Thanks for reading and  have a great day!

A few days ago, I was nominated for a Liebster award by Sara Batchelor! I am absolutely appreciative  and grateful to have been nominated. I've only been blogging for a couple of weeks, so this is crazy to me! Go check out her blog www.sarabatchelor.wordpress.com

Part of being nominated requires me to follow 6 rules. The 6 rules are:

1) Thank the blogger who nominated you

Here are the questions that Sara gave to me:

1) Why did you start blogging?

Well, I've been through a lot of ups and downs in the past but during the past 2 years, I've changed in the best way possible. I really wanted to express the new me in some way. I always knew that I wanted to do something in my life that inspired people and made people happy. I was actually watching a ton of YouTube videos one night and I started wondering what it would be like to make videos myself. I knew I'd love to do something similar but I'm not that comfortable in front of a camera. That's when blogging came to mind. It ticked all the right boxes but I wasn't 100% sure if it was something that I should do. Like always when I have an idea, I asked my friends for their opinion on our group-chat. They were actually incredibly excited about the idea and I got straight to planning some ideas.

Describe yourself in three words
Quirky, Ambitious, Creative.

What is your favourite song right now?
Well, I have two and I find it really difficult to pick one over the other. They're both by Ariana Grande and they are 'Be alright' and 'Dangerous woman'. I LOVE THEM!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself studying history in university. I'm praying that I'll be healthy and safe. Maybe in a relationship? Who knows!

Who is your biggest blog inspiration?
Like I said before, I've only just been into blogging, so I've only just started to follow a bunch of blogs recently. At the moment, I've been enjoying Beauty spectrum. She is my age, it's so easy to relate to her. She is also from the UK, so again she is super easy to relate to. She is generally someone that I'd love to be friends with one day. She's so lovely!

Have you ever travelled anywhere, if so where?
I travelled quite a bit when I was a baby but I've only been to one place outside of the UK that I actually remember. I went to Orlando in Florida last summer to celebrate my dad and I's birthday (we share a birthday). It was such an incredible 2 weeks and we plan to go again in the near future. We're planning to go to two places this year, which I am buzzing about!

Would you encourage your friends to start a blog and why/why not?
Of course! Blogging has already become one of my favourite things to do! I get the best feeling whenever I press publish. Just a sense of pride and happiness takes over me! I would recommend it to everybody! Don't feel scared to do it because it honestly is the best community ever and you'll feel so welcomed when you start.

What social media platforms do you use to promote your blog content?
I mainly use Snapchat because it is my favourite social media app. I use Instagram and Twitter too (more so Twitter). I am apart of a few Facebook groups with other bloggers and I also share my content on there.

What is your favourite movie of all time?
100% The notebook! I don't know what it is but I just love that film! I cry every single time I watch it. It's just such a beautiful story.

Have long have you been blogging for?
Just 2 weeks now! Hasn't been very long but It's already been the best experience.

What do you do in your spare time, besides blogging?
I love to dance and I sometimes bake. I haven't done much of either because of my exams but I do enjoy them A LOT. My main source of entertainment at the moment is Snapchat!

Study Tips

Ok everyone, we can't ignore the fact that exam season is approaching. It's coming and it's coming fast. Doing my GCSEs in year 10, I managed to pick up a few techniques and tips for revising, that I'll definitely be using this year for my year 11 exams. I thought it would be a good idea to share some of those techniques with you all, as I know that many people find it difficult to revise. So here we go!

Study Tip 1: Making a schedule

The first thing that is essential for your revision is making a schedule to follow. Make sure that it is realistic! There is no point writing down that you're going to revise for 4 hours a day, if you know full well that you don't have an attention span that long. Grab a notebook or use an excel spreadsheet to create a time table that you can follow. Even 5 minutes per subject will do! When you have completed a day that you have written down, make sure to tick it off. You'll be extremely proud of yourself after exam season, when you see all of those ticks on the page.

Study Tip 2: Making revision cards

This is a technique that particularly helped me last year. All you will need is some colourful cards (which you can make yourself) and some pens. All you have to do is write an example exam question on one side and the answer at the back or at the bottom of the card. For example, if the subject is science, you may ask the question "what is an atom?" and then write the answer to it. That maybe helpful enough for some people. Some people may just want to flick through it and all the information will be absorbed, however I'm not like that. I don't know about you but I can't be bothered to flick through a pack of 50 different cards with information. It doesn't seem to help. What I like to do is stick each card onto my wall with blue tack. That way, every time I go in and out of my bedroom, I can see it. It's actually amazing how much our brain retrieves information without you needing to try!

Study Tip 3: Writing a song

This one is for all the creative people. Some people don't really learn from reading from a page. No matter how much they try, it doesn't work for them. Sometimes the only way that they can learn, is through doing. One way is writing a song! I remember back in year 8, my friend and I wrote a song in science that helped our whole class to remember a topic. It was a short catchy song that allowed people to remember all the essential information. The song does not have to be professional or good. It just has to be something you'll easily remember.

Study Tip 4: Using revision guides

This isn't my favourite way to study but it's definitely beneficial. My school is always recommending study guides and selling them at school. They work really well. They break down the information into sections and usually have practice questions in the back too. I prefer to use highlighters when I use this technique as using colours automatically draws your eyes to that piece of information first. This way, you'll never forget the essentials. They do cost money, but they're certainly a great source to use.

Study Tip 5: Have a study date

Whether it be with your boyfriend/girlfriend or your best friends, it's so much more entertaining to study with someone else. Going to the library with your friends sounds super boring but it's actually more fun than you'd think. You can teach each other topics that you're stuck on and test each other when you want more practice. You don't even have to go out. You could gather a bunch of throw blankets, pillows and cushions on the floor, with your books/laptop. I personally love having music in the background. I guess some people get their motivation from Beyoncé.
Don't forget to have a break too! Treat yourselves to a Maccies or a Chinese takeaway when you are done!

I hope this helped some of you out. Good Luck to everyone with their exams. Remember that if you try your hardest, you'll be proud of whatever you receive on results day.

What the heck is going on??

My first post! Ahhhhh! I’ve always been told that I’m someone who is super easy to talk to and I’m pretty good at giving advice, if I say so myself, so I decided to take advantage of it. After a while, I came up with the crazy idea of becoming a blogger! Sort of like your virtual friend. I was thinking a lot about what I wanted my first post to be about and I decided to make it an introduction.

So first of all, who am I? My name is Rochelle, I am 16 years old, and I’m a very ambitious person. I’m your typical British teenager. I’ve always been a bit of an old soul to be quite honest. I believe in working for what you want, being independent and having fun with it. I try my hardest to live life to the fullest. Life is way too short to be someone you’re not. It took me a while to learn that. I’ve recently gained a lot of confidence, which I’ll eventually go into detail about, during my journey of blogging.

I’m passionate about dancing. It’s my favourite thing in the world to do. Just being able to be these different characters on stage is extremely fun for me. I’m not much of a party girl, but when it comes to dancing, I can never turn it down.

I’m in no way a professional or even remotely fantastic at makeup and fashion, but it’s definitely something I love. I’m not the most stylish person in my opinion but either way dressing up is fun. Makeup for me is pretty therapeutic. I love doing my makeup whenever I plan to go out somewhere. Deciding what sort of person I want to be for the day. Kind of like role play as a kid. Depending on whether you guys want to see it, I may incorporate some “beauty” aspects in the future.

My aim for this blog is to provide a space for people to come to, and share their opinions. I’ll always open my blog for requests. After all, you guys are reading them! I would love to get to know as many of you as possible, if I don’t already. I want my blog to be more lifestyle content. I want to inspire as many people as possible to just live a happy life. I decided to call my blog Chelle Belle, because of that exact reason. Taking French as a GCSE subject actually became a benefit! If you didn’t know, Belle means beautiful in French. You would think that my blog would be purely beauty because of the name; however I want it to be about the beauty of life. Our beauty, both inside and out. Let’s face it; it will most likely be mainly about beauty within.

The schedule. With doing my GCSEs at school, I’m going to try my best to balance my school work, work and posting. For the most part, I plan on uploading every Sunday. I’ll post on social media whenever I’ve published my content. Make sure to follow my blog page www.chellebelle2016.blogspot.com so that you don’t miss out! I look forward to posting and hearing all your feedback.
